About Emma

Emma Stevens is the founder of Cunningshot Gundogs and brings together a unique combination of veterinary knowledge, canine behaviour expertise, and practical gundog experience.

After graduating from Nottingham University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine & Science, Emma spent two years in veterinary practice, developing a particular interest in canine behaviour and patient care. Her passion for helping owners build stronger relationships with their dogs through training ultimately led her to establish Cunningshot Gundogs.

Over the years, Emma has worked with a wide variety of breeds and disciplines, including agility, security, detection, and working gundogs. She regularly trains both pet and working dogs, from young puppies through to advanced handlers, and has extensive experience supporting behavioural rehabilitation across all breeds.

Emma remains actively involved in the shooting community and regularly works her own team of dogs on picking-up and beating days throughout the season. She also breeds a carefully selected line of working Springer Spaniels and is passionate about encouraging the next generation of handlers through junior training and development days.

As a Guest Trainer at Millroe Gundogs, Emma hosts specialist training days at the Tatenhill training ground, working alongside Adam and Ivor to provide practical, supportive training for all breeds of working gundogs.

Her friendly approach, wealth of experience, and passion for teaching ensure that every handler leaves with greater confidence, knowledge, and a stronger connection with their dog.
